Our country covers an area of 2,780,400 km2. Argentina is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, hosting one of the greatest ecosystem varieties in the world: 15 continental zones, 2 marine zones, and the Antarctic region are all represented in its territory. Argentina has 35 National Parks and we believe that combining the Tango trip with a type of tourism so special and different from what European tourists are used to is THE BEST COMBINATION!!!
In this 2023 edition we will visit the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, located in the north of the country. Its soil, climate, unique landscapes will surprise you. Here below you will find more information about the sites we will visit.
SALTA City, Province of Salta
Salta is a provincial capital in mountainous northwestern Argentina. Founded in 1582, it’s known for its Spanish colonial architecture and Andean heritage. The city centers on Plaza 9 de Julio, an elegant, cafe-lined square bordered by the neoclassical Salta Cathedral and El Cabildo, an 18th-century town hall turned historical museum. Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña (MAAM) nearby houses Incan artifacts.
PURMAMARCA, province of Jujuy
Purmamarca in the Aymara language means People of the Virgin Land, it is a town of pre-Hispanic origin declared a National Historic Site and whose urban layout was made around the main Church, Santa Rosa de Lima.
It is the northern town that has preserved its culture, its architecture and that custom of everything happening around the square. A fair has been set up there where typical products are offered: vicuña and llama wool ponchos, woven scarves and hats, tapestries, striped pants in strident colors, seed rattles, alpaca and silver necklaces and bracelets, miniatures of colla women. carrying their clay pots, among other souvenirs.
CERRO DE LOS 7 COLORES, province of Jujuy
Cerro de los Siete Colores is one of the hills bordering the Quebrada de Purmamarca which is in turn is a western branch of the Quebrada de Humahuaca up to Cuesta del Lipán, in Jujuy Province, Argentina.

Its unique color range is the product of a complex geological history including marine sediments, lake and river movements elevated with the movement of the tectonic plates.

SALINAS GRANDES, province of Salta
The Salinas Grandes are located in the north in the provinces of Jujuy and Salta, at an average altitude of 3,450 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 212 km² and is well-known for its vast white desert. The desert is about 320 km wide.
The unique scenery draws visitors to these sprawling white salt flats with striking blue pools.

TREN DE LAS NUBES, province of Salta
Amazing Train to the Clouds proposing to be part of this unique and special trip in one of the highest trains in the world. In this magical experience, the Puna manifests itself in all its splendor reaching 4,200 meters above sea level, where beautiful landscapes that accompany the route connect and merge in Ramal C14, the incredible engineering work carried out in the middle of the mountain by Richard Fontaine. TILCARA, province of Jujuy
Tilcara is a town in Jujuy province in northern Argentina. It lies in the dramatic Quebrada de Humahuaca mountain valley. Just outside town are the partially rebuilt remains of the Pucará de Tilcara, a pre-Hispanic hilltop fortification. Nearby are steep gorges like the Devil's Throat. In town, the Dr. Eduardo Casanova Archaeological Museum has Inca relics. The José A. Terry Museum displays paintings of local life.

CAFAYATE, province of Salta
Cafayate is a town in Salta province, in northwest Argentina. It lies in the Calchaquí Valleys, an area known for its reddish rock formations. Many vineyards dot the land, and in town the Museo de la Vid y el Vino explains the process of winemaking. Near the town square are the Rodolfo Bravo Regional and Archaeological Museum, with objects from local excavations, and the 19th-century Our Lady of the Rosary cathedral.
